  • CalFresh is a nutrition program that can help households buy healthy foods
  • California Chafee Grant for Foster Youth is a federal and state funded grant for current or former California foster youth to help pay for college or career and technical training (as yearly funds are available)
  • California College Pathways  is a statewide partnership that provides resources and leadership to campuses and community organizations to help foster youth succeed at community colleges and four-year universities 
  • Contra Costa Independent Living Skills Program provides services to youth (up to 21) who are in-care or recently emancipated from the Foster Care System
  • Foster Care to College Online Guide to Resources connects foster care youth who are aging out of the system (and others who grew up in foster care) to financial, housing and academic support resources that can make attending college easier. It's also a great guide for social workers, foster parents, and anyone else who helps foster kids and are looking for assistance resources
  • Foster Youth Success Initiatives (FYSI) Resources for Students remove barriers that youth from foster care often encounter when attempting to access or attend an institute of higher education
  • John Burton Foundation is a statewide non-profit organization based in San Francisco, working throughout California to improve the quality of life for California's foster, former foster, and homeless youth
