Notes from LMC Recipients

“I would like to personally thank you for your generosity. I am a disabled student who is financially struggling to cover educational costs. I have been recently accepted into the LVN Program and with your kind gift I was able to purchase a pen light, nursing watch, ID holder, and bandage scissors. Words can never express how truly grateful I am for your help.”

“Thank you so much for this scholarship. After my father lost his job recently, I wasn’t sure how I would pay for the expenses this coming year, but this scholarship will allow me to continue and complete the PTEC program so I can start my career.”

“The scholarship you have awarded me will benefit me immensely for the reasons that it will take the financial burden off my back, and will allow me to focus on my studies. Thanks to this scholarship I am one step closer at attaining my academic goal of being the first in my family to transfer to a four-year college to get my degree.”

“I would like to take this time to give a deep heart-felt thank you for giving me this scholarship. It will help me pursue my dreams of becoming a Nurse. My success at returning to school and maintaining a 4.0 GPA, despite coming from a family whose culture did not encourage attaining a college education, gives me the confidence that I can accomplish anything that I set my mind to.”

“Thank you LMC Foundation! This scholarship will help to pay for my required texts in the Fall. When I first received notice of the award all I could do was smile and feel as if a weight was lifted off my shoulders.”

“It means so much to be given support from someone who doesn’t know me personally. It’s encouraging to know that apart from family, there are others that believe in me and the goals I wish to pursue.”

“Los Medanos College has been such a great opportunity for me. Being a single parent who faces financial struggles in everyday life, attending college didn’t seem possible. The Contra Costa Community College District has helped me to change what I thought was impossible by allowing me to further my education and gain the necessary tools needed to be successful.”
