There are Three Options for Certificates of Achievement in ECE at LMC:
Certificate of Achievement in Early Childhood Education
A student can earn a Certificate of Achievement in Early Childhood Education by taking the following 8 required courses.
- ECE 1: Principles & Practices of Teaching Young Children 3 units
- ECE 83: Field Experience in an Early Childhood Program 3 units
NOTE- It is recommended to take ECE 83 in your FIRST semester at LMC. You can waive ECE 83 if you have at least 144 hours of experience in a licensed preschool classroom. - ECE/CHDEV 10: Child Growth & Development 3 units
- ECE 11: Observation & Assessment 3 units
- ECE/CHDEV 20: Child, Family & Community 3 units
- ECE/CHDEV 50: Teaching in a Diverse Society 3 units
- ECE 62: Introduction to Curriculum 3 units
- ECE 65: Health, Safety & Nutrition in Early Childhood Programs 3 units
- ECE 90: Student Teaching Practicum in Early Childhood 4 units.
Certificate of Achievement of Science in Early Childhood Education Master Teacher
A student can earn a Certificate of Achievement in Early Childhood Education Master Teacher by taking the following 12 required courses.
- ECE 1: Principles & Practices of Teaching Young Children 3 units
- ECE/CHDEV 10: Child Growth & Development 3 units
- ECE 11: Observation & Assessment 3 units
- ECE/CHDEV 20: Child, Family & Community 3 units
- ECE/CHDEV 30: Trauma Informed Practitioner, Foundations 3 units
- ECE/CHDEV 31: Trauma Informed Practitioner, Practices & Strategies 3 units

- ECE 41: Curriculum & Strategies for Infants/Toddlers 3 units

A student can earn a Certificate of Achievement in Early Childhood Education Site Supervisor by taking the following 12 required courses.
