Example Gallery Asset
An asset is just a chunk of code that was created for you that you can place on as
many pages of the website as you wish. When an asset is updated then every place that
asset has been placed will be updated.
The gallery below is an an asset. The "v-card" at the bottom of this page that lists
my contact information is an asset. And the text asset showing the tuition fee of "$237
per unit in addition to the enrollment fee of $46 per unit" is an asset.
Example Accordian Snippet
When looking at the result of an asset or a snippet it's hard to know the difference.
They both produce a result once the page is saved however difference is in the editing
process. An asset is edited outside the page and then placed on multible pages. A
snippet's content is edited directly in the page and is unique the page it is placed
on.
- Tip #1
Always test
Complex layouts are a little difficult inside a snippet. It's good practice to do
a little, save and text each page as you are working on it to see how it looks.
- Tip #2
Some snippets can be inserted into other snippets. They don't always play nice with
each other (refer back to tip# 1.)
Ex: The following 2 column snippet works rather well in the accordian snippet.
Some text 1
Just some generic text as a placeholder. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy
dog. Just when the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog the lazy dog jumped over
the fox. He was a very hyper lazy dog!
Some text 2
Just some generic text as a placeholder. The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy
dog. Just when the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog the lazy dog jumped over
the fox. He was a very hyper lazy dog!
The tabbed panel snippet does not unless you like that bloody red tab?
- Tab 1
- Tab 2
- Tab 3
- Tip # 3
Always check your heading order when placing content in snippets by running an accessiblity
check when you publish.
