    Speaker

"Hesham Jarmakani is an American born Syrian that grew up in the Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA) region. He is a Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholar which gave him the opportunity to study economics at UC Berkeley. Hesham's passion for learning and knowledge is only matched by his passion for social change and activism, particularly with matters concerning the SWANA region. Hesham is currently applying to graduate programs at UC Berkeley thanks to the Jack Kent Cooke graduate scholarship, and is hoping to pursue a master's in public policy. Hesham is grateful for this opportunity to discuss the amazing benefits of being a Jack Kent Cooke Scholar and is more than willing to answer any and all questions possible! In his free time, Hesham enjoys playing video games, reading, weightlifting, and spending time with his baby girl - a 10 year old, one-eyed doggie by the name of Dabby."
