Welcome to the LMC Scholarship listings web page.
The LMC Foundation offers numerous scholarship opportunities for current LMC students
continuing and or transferring in the upcoming fall semester.
Eligibility:
- To apply for an LMC Foundation Scholarship you must be currently enrolled at LMC
for both the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters and have a cumulative GPA of 2.0
or higher.
- The additional criteria for each scholarship varies based on student’s GPA, educational
major, career major, community service, financial need, etc.

External Scholarship Opportunities are scholarship opportunities offered by individual donors, businesses, organizations,
foundations, etc. These opportunities are not associated with the LMC Foundation Scholarships
and students will need to complete a separate application.
Please note: Applying for a scholarship from a reputable source is always free. If
you are being asked to pay money and/or provide information you are not comfortable
with, it is highly recommended that you do not apply and verify the authenticity of
the organization.

- Who can apply for an LMC Foundation Scholarship?
To apply , you must be currently enrolled at LMC and have established a minimum GPA
of 2.0 by the application deadline date. Some scholarships may have additional requirements
as well.
- I am an undocumented student. May I apply?
Yes, as long as you meet the minimum requirements listed above.
- I am an international student. May I apply?
Yes, as long as you meet the minimum requirements listed above.
- When do I apply?
The LMC general application period runs November through early February.
- Do I need to apply for financial aid (FAFSA/California Dream Act)
The Scholarship Office strongly encourages students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Assistance (FAFSA) or California DREAM Act Application each year to determine your eligibility for federal and/or state grants. NOTE: Completing
a FAFSA or CADA is not a requirement to apply for an LMC Scholarship.
- What are the eligibility requirements?
The LMC Foundation offers over 40 different scholarship opportunities in which the
criteria for each scholarship varies. Criteria varies based on a student's GPA, educational
major, career goals, community service, foster youth, veteran status, contininuing
LMC student, transferring student, etc.
- How many scholarships can I apply for?
There is no limit to how many you can apply for.
- Is there a limit to how many scholarships I can be awarded?
- How do I know which scholarships to apply for?
Once a student completes the general scholarship application, the system will identify/auto
match the applicant to specific opportunities.
- How many references do I need?
Applicants need two references, one from an LMC staff member and one from a reputable
source (both references can be from an LMC staff member). You will need the email
address of the individual you are requesting a reference from. The applicant provides
the name and email address on the online general application which will generate a
reference request to the individual who will submit their reference via the online
scholarship portal.
- What else do I need?
Applicants will upload their unofficial LMC transcript to the scholarship portal.
- What are the scholarship award amounts amounts?
The award amounts vary from $100 to $10,000
- I was awarded an LMC scholarship in a previous academic year. May I apply again?
Yes, as long as you meet the minimum requirements listed above.
