Pittsburg, Calif. – Telemundo48 is showcasing LMC’s Women’s Soccer team, students and programs in a 30-second spot in Spanish that runs during live broadcasts of the Women’s World Cup Tournament through Aug. 20.

Playing off the tournament theme “The cup is ours,” LMC’s ad declares, “The future is ours!”

“This promotion gives us a chance to put our excellence on display – the grit and determination of students and student-athletes and our programs – in a moment that the world celebrates the epitome of achievement and excellence through the Women’s World Cup Tournament,” Los Medanos President Pamela Ralston said.

The spot opens with the kickoff and leads into fast-cut action of a goal. From there, the ad speeds into highlights of college programs of study from psychology to technology, including drone piloting.

The spot highlights the skills and quick footwork of top LMC players Kimberly Garcia, Sam Nash, Emilia Rodriguez, Liv Kamm, Lily Ruiz, Brooke Gale, and Reina Ramos. Assistant coach Sal Acevedo makes a cameo appearance along with “fans,” which included prospective students Janessa and Alyssa Acevedo. The cast included returning members of the team that won its fourth consecutive Bay Valley Conference Championship in fall 2022.

The production included art, drama and journalism students, Hanna and Isaac Dorr, Jazzleen Amador, Daisy Acosta-Campos and Gabrielle Hahn. Alumni Ninette Alfaro and Emily La Russa also participated in the production.

The spot was produced in partnership with Telemundo48 and in collaboration with the City of Pittsburg.
