LMC Mustangs advance to Northern California Super Regional Playoffs

Mustangs finish two-game sweep of Cañada College Colts with 9-3 final

Pittsburg, Calif.: LMC Mustangs on Sunday secured a spot in the Northern California Super Regional Playoffs with a final 9-3 finish in a two-game sweep of Cañada College, wrapping up the 2024 3C2A Baseball Northern California Regional Playoffs.

The Mustangs (No. 2) heads to West Valley College in Saratoga, to play the No. 3 seed Folsom Lake College at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Folsom Lake enters the series after a 2-0 sweep of their regional playoff, a 17-7 record in conference play and a 28-14 overall record. West Valley (No. 1) starts the series with a buy then plays the loser of the first game. Then, the winners face off. The series is expected to end on Saturday.

LMC has enjoyed a 20-game winning streak. The team boasts a 12-2 record in conference play, and an impressive 30-9 overall record. Meanwhile, West Valley finished conference play with a 16-4 record and 32-10 overall record.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our team,” Athletic Director Marty Storti said. “They’ve overcome adversity from Mother Nature and a formidable opponent to earn their spot in the Super Regionals. They are focused and ready for the next challenge, and we are cheering for them all the way.”
