Pittsburg, Calif. – LMC this week launched its latest ad campaign showcasing action-packed careers in nursing and public safety (administration of justice), while emphasizing opportunities to elevate careers and higher education goals across more than 90 programs.

The ads, one in English and one in Spanish, extend the college’s ongoing theme declaring, “The future is ours!”

“This promotion gives us a chance to put our excellence on display and show the professionalism our students exercise from Day One,” Los Medanos President Pamela Ralston said. “Our students learn on the latest available technology from experts in their fields.”

The spot opens with beeping heart monitors and rapid-cut action of nursing students resuscitating an electronic mannequin in the college’s nursing simulation lab. Faculty can program the mannequins from another room to present myriad symptoms for the students to recognize and act accordingly. From there, the ad cuts to a fast-paced response from campus police and a police aide in training, then transitions to highlights of student life in and outside the classroom.

“We pride ourselves in preparing students for rewarding careers in much-needed public service areas, including nursing, law enforcement, and firefighting,” said Dennis Franco, dean of career education. “Their newfound skills benefit their career trajectories and ensure the community is a great place to live with caring and highly trained professionals ready to serve.”

Everyone featured in the ad is an LMC student, employee or parent. They represent programs in nursing, administration of justice, biology, math and drama.

The spot was produced on the LMC Pittsburg campus in partnership with Xfinity.
