50th anniversary logoPittsburg, Calif. – Los Medanos College this year celebrates its golden anniversary. As such, LMC’s 50th Anniversary Committee invites faculty, employees, alumni, students and community members to join the yearlong celebration by sharing memories, stories, photos, videos, and milestones.

The Contra Costa Community College District (4CD) opened Los Medanos College in Pittsburg in 1974 to serve east Contra Costa County. Today, its service area includes Pittsburg, Antioch, Bay Point, Clayton, parts of Concord, Brentwood, Oakley, Knightsen, Bethel Island, Byron, and Discovery Bay. It is the third of three colleges within 4CD.

LMC has since grown to offer more than 90 programs of studies and has expanded to include the new state-of-the-art Brentwood Center. LMC has established itself as a cultural focal point for the community, which reflects the achievements of each student, faculty member, employee, stakeholder and partner.
