Have you been offered a job on-campus? Congratulations!
Your hiring supervisor will initiate a hire card, which will need to be signed by the Financial Aid office (if you are Federal Work Study eligible) and by the manager/dean who oversees your department. Then the card will be routed to your InSite email. All emails received during the hiring process will come from forms@losmedanos.edu.

You must complete and sign your portion of the hire card.
If you are a re-hire (meaning you have worked on the campus in the last 6 months), then once you submit the hire card, it will be routed to the payroll office for processing.
If you are a new hire, you will need to complete a new hire paperwork packet and submit it to the Student Employment Office, along with your I-9 identification. You will receive an email from the Student Employment Office requesting these items and asking you to book an appointment. After you have completed the paperwork packet & provided your I-9 identification, the hire card will route to the manager for final approval.

Beware of Fraudulent Emails!
Fraudulent employers are often targeting job-seekers, and sometimes are able to send emails to your personal or school-based account, posing as a college-approved organization. Please look for these red flags when reading an email about a prospective job offer:
- LMC will NEVER distribute your email address, name, or any other personal information without your consent. It's against the law. If you receive an email from someone who says they received your information from the college, it's not true.
- Requests for financial/personal information are red flags. Here are some examples:
- You must provide your credit card or bank account numbers or other personal financial documentation. Do NOT give out any financial information at any point during your job search and hiring process.
- You are asked to provide your social security and driver’s license information in the initial application. Personal information should never be asked during the initial application process.
- The representative tells you that the organization does not have an office set up in your area and will need you to help get the office up and running. This scam often includes a request for your banking information, supposedly to help the employer make transactions.
- You are offered a large payment or reward in exchange for allowing the use of your bank account, often for depositing checks or transferring money.
- Websites and emails can signal a problem. For example:
- The posting appears to be from a reputable, familiar organization—often a Fortune 500. Yet, the email handle in the contact's email address does not match the domain used by representatives of the organization; this is typically easy to determine from the organization's website.
- The contact email address contains the domain @live.com or an @ that is not affiliated with the organization. Examples: @gmail, @yahoo, @hotmail. If this is the case, then verify that the email address matches what is found on the organization’s website.
