Data Vista Metric Definition:   Students Who Earned Nine or More Career Education Units Within the District in a Single Year.  Among students in selected student journey, the proportion who successfully completed nine or more career education semester units in the selected year within the district

  The multi-series line chart compares the percentage of students who earned nine or more Career Education units for all students, Black/African American students, First Generation students, male students, and the benchmark for the top five Bay Area colleges from 2016–17 through 2024–25. Overall rates ranged from 10.2% to 13.2%, with a general increase in recent years and a high of 13.2% in 2024–25. Black/African American student rates remained below the overall rate throughout the period, declining to a low of 6.6% in 2019–20 before increasing steadily to 10.3% in 2024–25. First Generation student rates ranged from 9.9% to 12.9%, rising notably after 2021–22 and ending at their highest level in 2024–25. Male student rates remained the highest among the college student groups throughout the period, ranging from 12.8% to 16.3% and ending at a nine-year high in 2024–25. The Top 5 Bay Area benchmark ranged from 10.0% to 13.3%, generally remaining close to the college’s overall rate and ending at 12.9% in 2024–25.
