Los Medanos College Math Labs
DUE TO DISTRICT CLOSURE, PITTSBURG AND BRENTWOOD LABS ARE ON CANVAS: All students enrolled in a math course are also enrolled in the virtual Math Lab Canvas course. Log-in to Canvas and accept the invitation to the Math Lab and get your math questions answered.
The math labs' services:
- Fulfill the mandatory math lab requirement for your math class in virtual Math Lab Canvas course.
- Obtain specialized tutoring designed to help students understand concepts in math.
- Work on math with your friends or study group via Zoom.
- To get resources, reference books, and other virtual Math tools, please contact your instructor or Math Lab Coordinator.
- Obtain study skill strategies and alternate strategies used for problem solving.

Take challenge exams and mastery quizzes. Due to limited access, challenge exams are currently unavailable.
- Pittsburg Campus and Brentwood Campus: MATH 025, 026, 030 & 155.
- Must have unexpired government-issued picture ID; CDL, Passport, Immigration Card, etc.
- For mastery quizzes, contact your instructor.

The Math Tutoring and Computer Math Labs are staffed by professors, tutors, and Math
Lab Coordinators and are your place to get help on lab assignments, course concepts,
computer software, and other assignments. The Math Tutoring Lab offers a study area along with 2 small rooms for study groups. Each computer in the
Computer Math Lab is installed with software such as Mathematica, TinkerPlots, Microsoft Office, Excel,
and Online Homework Systems (MyMathLab, MathXL, Carnegie, WebAssign, ALEKS, et al.)
used in the most current Math courses. The Quiet Study Lab offers a noise free space for you to work (no tutoring occurs in here as a courtesy
to other students). This service is for LMC students enrolled in LMC Math classes
only.

Testing Center (MA-106 - Inside Quiet Study Lab)

The testing room is a quiet, proctored room where students can take PSI tests, Challenge Exams (by appointment only), and mastery quizzes for classes like Math 12 and 25.
YOU MUST START YOUR QUIZ AT LEAST HALF AN HOUR BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT ENDS.

The Math Tutoring Lab at the Brentwood Center is staffed by professors, peer tutors, a math Lab coordinator, and a lab assistant.
The math lab is your place to get help on lab assignments, course concepts, computer
software, the use of graphing calculators, and other assignments.
A multitude of teaching strategies are used to meet the needs of individual learning styles thus empowering students to become lifelong learners. Through continual collaboration with peer professionals we strive to provide a positive learning and working environment where a culture of innovation, inclusiveness and inquiry is both expected and respected.
Each computer in the Math Lab is installed with software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and has access to online
homework systems ( MyMathLab, MathXL, Carnegie, WebAssign, ALEKS, et al.) used in
the most current math courses.
