Change your name on LMC Documents

We recognize that students want to use names other than their legal name to identify themselves. A preferred first name is in lieu of your legal name, and will be used in the following areas:

  • Class Rosters
  • Canvas
  • Student ID Card
  • Emails from the college

Your username and email address will not change. A list of places where your legal name will be used may be found on the Chosen Name Request Form. Click here to access the Chosen Name Request Form, which can also be accessed on the LMC Student Forms tile on InSite.

Update your pronouns and gender identity through InSite by clicking the Settings Icon --> “View/Change Address and Personal Identity” -->“Edit Personal Identity."

To update your display name on Canvas, click Account --> Settings --> Edit Settings (on the right side) --> make edits & Update Settings. Here's a step by step video
