President Nominees

Natalaya Marroquin

Natalya Marroquin

My name is Natalya Marroquin, and I’m running to be your next LMCAS President! I currently serve as Vice President, where I’ve gained experience in leadership, collaboration, and student advocacy. I’ve also stepped in for the President by creating meeting agendas and leading meetings, strengthening my ability to guide and support our organization.

As President, I want to expand opportunities for the Brentwood campus by increasing the variety of food options, strengthening outreach, and creating more engaging events for students. My goal is to build a more active, inclusive campus environment that reflects the needs and interests of our student body.

I want to attend club meetings to share what LMCAS is and how we can support organizations through funding and resources. By building stronger connections with clubs, we can encourage collaboration on events and create a more unified and supportive campus community. I’d be honored to have your vote!

Jessica Solano

Jessica Solano

I am running for LMCAS President because I want to a person that students can feel genuine and comfortable approaching and connecting with. I don’t just want to lead–I want to listen and understand. I am committed to take on this position and its responsibilities for the improvement of our college. I am eager to learn more about the concerns and opinions of the students and put it into meaningful action.

This position demands someone who is driven and dedicated, and I am willing to become more of that for my peers. I am an approachable, organized and passionate person that can manage our college efficiently. More than anything I want to lead our college to success. I understand the importance of being bold and making sure our voices guide the decisions our college makes. Above all I want to lead us with purpose, to create an empowered community.

Vice President Nominee

Tatiana R.

Tatiana Rodriguez

I am running for the Vice President position because it is my next step into getting more engaged with Los Medanos College Associated Students. I want to continue learning about the ins and outs of being a leader for a population rather than for myself. By working alongside the President, I am able to understand better why we do what we do and how exactly we do it.

In my previous position as Commissioner of Campus Events, I’ve learned how to lead and support upcoming events, but I would love to pursue more than just events for LMCAS. I want to work alongside the President and create more of an impact on the student community. My goals are to continue to uplift and work toward students' needs. To handle a wider variety of assignments and to help the President and watch what it is to manage LMCAS.

Treasurer Nominees

Venus A.

Venus Aziz

I am seeking the treasurer position because I am committed to making a meaningful impact on our student body and ensuring our resources are used effectively. As a business major, my coursework in finance, accounting, and budgeting directly aligns with the responsibilities of this role. I am also proficient in Excel, allowing me to accurately track expenses, organize financial data, and maintain clear, reliable records.

If elected, I will prioritize transparency, accountability, and organization in all financial matters. I will develop a well-structured annual budget, as well as ensure all transactions are properly recorded, and support student leadership when needed. My goal is to allocate funds in a way that maximizes opportunities for students, supports engaging campus events, and strengthens our local community. I am dependable, detail-oriented, and ready to take on the responsibility of serving as treasurer

Miguel C.

Miguel A. Cortez

As your former delegate to the Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) and a Business and Economics major, I am running for Treasurer to ensure student voices are heard at every level. I have traveled to Washington, D.C., where I met with legislative aides for our district's congressional representatives to advocate for increased student financial literacy resources.

My top priority is ensuring that LMCAS funds are spent on students, especially in uplifting marginalized communities through financial education and long-term economic stability. I believe in political advocacy and financial empowerment as tools to create lasting change. With experience in state and national representation, I will continue to push for policies that support and protect students. Together, we can build a more inclusive and financially informed campus. Vote for experience and leadership that starts with action, fights for equity, and makes every dollar count toward the students we serve.

Commissioner of Publicity & Outreach Nominees

Shannah H.

Shannah Hermano

My name is Shannah Hermano, and I serve as the current Commissioner of Publicity and Outreach for LMCAS. I am running again because I want to continue the work I’ve started, like the podcast I’m planning to launch this term. I hope to learn more over the summer, get better at editing and come up with fresh ideas for recruitment and engagement on campus. Honestly, I feel like I didn’t fully fulfill my role this year and I’d love the chance to do that next school year.

I’m passionate about the work I do, networking, talking to people, making flyers, and I love capturing moments through photography. It’s a way for me to express myself and show what LMCAS does. My goal is to bring more students into LMCAS, encourage involvement, and make sure their voices are heard on campus. I want everyone to see that student government matters and that their opinions make a difference.

Akita H.

Akita Hodge

I’m Akita Danielle Hodge and currently running for Commissioner of Public Outreach. I have an associates in Hospitality Management and I’m now working on a double major in psychology/sociology. With my previous degree and work experience I would like to elevate the difference I make in my community with leadership opportunities through public relations and outreach.

I currently attend my city council meetings as well as LMCAS meetings. Hotel work involved lots of clerical duties where I had to report to management, ownership, and the public with reports on a daily basis. I’ll use that experience to share minutes and agendas accordingly. My engagement with the planning committee allowed me to see how LMCAS makes a difference on-campus by working with other clubs and leaders for one objective and I look forward to becoming an officer with LMCAS and representing this unity well to the public.

Commissioner of Events Nominee

Sonia J.

Sonia Jaramillo

Hi, I am Sonia Jaramillo Santana. I am interested in being appointed as Commissioner for Campus Events at LMCAS, as I would  like to work towards creating interesting events that unite students. I have personal first-hand  experience organizing events, which has enabled me to build organizational and communication skills.

Being elected as Commissioner for Campus Events, my intention would be to design creative events that will motivate students to be involved in the activities of LMCAS and get a deeper understanding of our organization. I would aim to arrange events that will attract students’  attention and motivate them to attend our meetings. As Commissioner for Campus Events, I am looking forward to gaining experience by collaborating with other officers, senators, and my adviser, as well as from the former Commissioner’s prior experience.
