Business Administration 2.0 for Transfer

Tenisha Manoharan

Tenisha Manoharan, 19, had a laser focus on her future earlier than most. As a high school sophomore, she discovered dual enrollment courses (free college credit classes) at Los Medanos College. She exceled. And at 16 she enrolled as a full-time Mustang, attending classes at the Brentwood Center.

“I came into Los Medanos College not quite sure where I would belong,” she said. “And in two years I found such supportive professors, mentors, and incredible opportunities to travel and represent LMC at the state and national level.”

Manoharan graduated this spring with a degree for transfer in Business Administration. She was accepted and plans to attend UC Berkeley Haas School of Business this fall. Her achievement during her time at LMC as the founder of DreaMe Foundation and inventor of the DreaMe Dolls helped her stand out along with her involvement as a student leader at LMC.

She credits the LMC’s Honors Program, MESA, and Transfer Center for providing the resources and encouragement she needed to stay the course and finish on top of her game. She embraced leadership opportunities with student government as a member of LMCAS and the local chapter of Future Business Leaders of America. Her involvement in Student Life gave her a chance to shine, organizing campuswide events and representing the college at two national conferences.

At LMC, “I learned never to underestimate community college, to say yes to opportunities, and how one opportunity can change the direction of your life,” she said. “Los Medanos College is where I found my friends, community, mentors, and followed my passion for business.”
