Pittsburg, Calif. – Los Medanos College (LMC) is pleased to join the Contra Costa County Library and Richmond Public Library in welcoming author Percival Everett for a discussion on his novel, James, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award for fiction. The author will visit Los Medanos College at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, in the Student Union, 2700 E. Leland Road.
“This is an incredible opportunity for our community to hear directly from the Pulitzer Prize-winning author,” said Kim Wentworth, LMC Librarian. “The experience will deepen our engagement with the text and prompt thoughtful conversation.”
The Contra Costa County Library selected LMC as the host location for its annual Read Contra Costa program. The event is funded by the Contra Costa County Library, Los Medanos College, and the Richmond Public Library.
“We are proud to be part of this important literacy campaign, which celebrates contemporary authors who capture our imagination and elevate our thinking,” LMC President Pamela Ralston said. “We are also delighted to be a place our community can turn to for cultural enrichment and social connection.”
