Los Medanos College Women’s Soccer team seeded for NorCal Regional playoffs

Lady Mustangs are 2022 Bay Valley Conference Champions for the fourth consecutive year


Los Medanos College Women’s Soccer team is poised for post-season play as the 2022 Bay Valley Conference Champions, with a solid 8-3 record in conference, and a 9-6-5 record overall. This is the fourth consecutive year they score the top spot as champions of the Bay Valley Conference.

The Lady Mustangs are seeded 20. They travel to play the No. 14 seed Reedley College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at Fresno Pacific University in the Jaime Ramirez Stadium.

“This is a great achievement for our student-athletes and our coaches,” President Bob Kratochvil said. “The students certainly have worked hard on the field, but they have impressed just as much with their academic performance. Congratulations on this well-earned victory.”

The Lady Mustangs wrapped up conference play with a net full of Bay Valley Conference acknowledgements and awards.

The Bay Valley Conference named Kim Garcia the Most Valuable Player for the second straight year. Tatiana Elsea won recognition as Forward of the Year. Sam Nash won Goalkeeper of the Year.

Head Coach Zach Sullivan earned the title of Bay Valley Conference Coach of the Year. 

“I want to congratulate the student-athletes and coaching staff for a great season,” Athletic Director Richard Villegas said. “Kudos to Head Coach Zach Sullivan for winning the ‘Coach of the Year’ honor for the fourth consecutive year.”

The team has had a stellar performance so far with five players making the First-Team All-Conference list, the highest recognition of individual athletic achievement for student athletes.

The list includes Kim Nash, Tatiana Elsea, Lily Ruiz, Angelina Ramirez and Sam Nash.

Additionally, four Lady Mustangs made the Second-Team All-Conference list: Jocelyn Torres, Kaytlyn Evans, Nathalie Farias and Paulina Gutierrez.
