Transfer & Career Services

Your path to transfer and career success!

Your steps to transfer success

For those who are already properly registered as students at LMC (if not, click here) and have already submitted previous high school or college transcripts to the Admissions & Records Office.

The transfer process can be confusing. We're here to help!

Where to Start at LMC

Congratulations! You've decided to explore transferring from LMC to complete a bachelor's degree at a college or university!

  • Los Medanos College's Top Ten to Transfer: Unsure what to do first? Read this!
  • Requirements for Transfer to California Public Universities: An overview of basic requirements for the California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) systems.
  • Los Medanos College Learning Communities: LMC has many different learning communities that provide transferable classes, knowledge, and a supportive community. Join one of these to find a transfer family and work toward your degrees together!
  • How to Plan Courses: IGETC, Associate Degrees for Transfer, General Education, and TAG can be really confusing, especially if you're trying to prepare for UCs, CSUs, and Private/Out of State Institutions. This worksheet helps to distinguish how to use different transfer planners, depending on where you want to transfer.

2Plan Courses According to Major and Transfer Goals

Explore careers and majors that highlight your skills, abilities, interests and vision for the future. General Education (IGETC and CSU-GE) fufill many transfer requirements, but you may transfer more quickly if you choose courses specific to your major, and the school you want to transfer to!

3 Explore Transfer Options

Research majors and four-year institutions that lead to degrees in your chosen career field and meet your priorities.
