California Educational Code and Title 5 regulations

Faculty role in curriculum development at the community college level is clearly outlined by code and regulation. Community college faculty members determine and authorize the appropriate curriculum and articulation of high school courses.

Articulation Agreement Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions are agreed upon and approved as part of the formal articulation agreement in support of career pathway sequence of courses.

  • Agreement is valid for 2 years from the date of approval unless otherwise stated. Agreements may be discontinued prior to expiration if the college no longer offers the course or as determined by the college discipline faculty.
  • Consultation will occur between High School/ROP/LMC instructors in the appropriate discipline, including review of final exams administered for the class.
  • High School/Adult Ed. teachers must be willing to attend the LMC Articulation Orientation at the beginning of each school year, communicate with students/parents regarding the nature of their articulated class, and assist their students with the LMC application and CATEMA registration procedure.
  • In order for students to receive articulated credit for most agreements, the student must: (a) meet the minimum grade of 'B' on the "Credit by Exam"; and (b) be registered as a LMC student and enrolled in CATEMA™.
  • Student transcripts will reflect the grade earned on the Exam and will note that the college credit was received through "Credit by Examination".
