Welcome to the Los Medanos College Counseling website! The Counseling Department is here to serve all current and prospective students of LMC. Counselors assist students in planning and executing a plan of study that appropriately reflects the students’ interests and motivation. The counselors provide guidance regarding graduation requirements, transfer options, baccalaureate degrees, career planning, personal decision making and testing. Counselors may also assist you with personal concerns.

This website is intended to provide useful information to help you succeed in your personal and educational endeavors. As information is constantly changing, students are encouraged to see a counselor at least once a semester.

Academic Success Workshops (Probation Workshops)

These workshops are designed to help students that are on probation or subject to dismissal. Attending one of the workshops listed below will enable you to meet the condition of your reinstatement and restore your eligibility to register for classes.

You will need your student i.d. number and date of birth to register for one of these workshops.

Reinstatement Workshops

These workshops are designed to help students seeking academic reinstatement at Los Medanos College. You must complete the workshop and the reinstatement process by August 1 for the fall 2012 semester. Select 'Reinstatement Workshop' from the list of workshops.

You will need your student identification number and date of birth to register for one of these workshops.

Express Counseling

Drop-in counseling is now called Express Counseling. It consists of 5-10 minute short counseling sessions to assist students in the following areas:

• Brief enrollment advising
• Alternatives and options if courses are closed
• Current enrollment problems and issues

Express counseling is usually available and on a first-come, first-serve basis. Regular appointments can be made by phone or in person.
