preparing your way
If this is the first time you have been to college and you plan to pursue an associate degree or transfer to a four-year college or university, you are strongly encouraged to complete a New Student Orientation, either in person or online. If you are taking classes solely to fulfill personal interests or to enhance your job skills, you are exempt from orientation and we ask that you complete and submit a Matriculation Exemption Request to the Information Center or LMC mailbox #25 .
You have two options for New Student Orientation. The first option is to take the online orientation at your convenience and make an appointment with a counselor to plan your first-semester classes. The second option is to make an appointment to attend a New Student Workshop where a counselor will give you a Student Handbook, tell you the important things you need to know before beginning college, and then help you select your first-semester classes.
If you have never been to college before and are planning to pursue an associate degree or to transfer to a four-year college or university, you must take assessment tests before attending a New Student Workshop.

Spring 2012 New Student Workshops
Option #1: Online Orientation This option provides a brief, but convenient orientation that should be followed by an appointment with a counselor who can assist you with choosing courses and other educational goals.
*Students that complete the online orientation by December 14 will be eligible to register on December 15. Online orientations completed after December 14 will be eligible for January 4, 2012 registration date.
The college will be closed and we will not be able to update enrollment dates from December 20 through January 3, 2012.
