WELCOME TO LOS MEDANOS COLLEGE! We are pleased that you are interested in attending Los Medanos College. The presence of international students on our campus and in our community increases our understanding and respect for the many cultures of the world. At the same time, we are confident that students from other countries gain a deeper understanding of American life by living and studying with us.
Los Medanos College is a diverse, full-service community college, which serves about 11,000 students each semester. We offer a comprehensive transfer program for students who wish to pursue baccalaureate degrees, associate degrees, and certificates of achievements in technical education programs for job skills training, and courses for continuing professional education.
Located in a pleasant suburban community about 50 minutes east of San Francisco, Los Medanos College is situated in one of the fastest growing and dynamic places in the San Francisco Bay Area in the eastern part of Contra Costa County. It is accessible by public transportation to Berkeley, Oakland and San Francisco and is the gateway to unlimited recreational opportunities - including Sacramento (California state capitol), the Sacramento River Delta, the Gold Country Foothills and Lake Tahoe.
Los Medanos College is located in Pittsburg, California, and is part of the Contra Costa Community College District which is comprised of three two-year public community colleges in the San Francisco Bay Area. The sister colleges are Contra Costa College in San Pablo and Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill.
International students have a wealth of programs and services available to them, including the international student admissions and advisory staff. Our campus facility includes a library, media and computer center, college bookstore, cafeteria, and athletic department.

New Health Insurance Requirement Effective Spring 2013!
International students must purchase mandatory health insurance provided through the Contra Costa Community College District. Once students have been accepted to the college, go to www.4studenthealth.com select “students”, select “Contra Costa Community College District” and then “Los Medanos College”. Medical benefit fees are due within the first two weeks of the term. If these fees are not paid by this deadline, students will be dropped from all courses and reported as out of status to USCIS.
