Mission & Student Learning Outcomes

Mission Statement

The Student Outreach Office assists prospective and current students by introducing them to information, processes and resources that will increase their awareness of the college experience, inform them of educational options, and provide steps to help them reach their educational goals. The Office will assist students in completing the core requirements students must complete to successfully move from application to registration. The Office will provide the leadership to create and enhance outreach programs and efforts that focus on underrepresented and under-prepared students.

As a result of the student's experience with this service,
the following outcomes will be achieved:

  • High school students who participate in pre-orientation outreach workshops will be given college information and will be able to complete the college application, English and math assessment, and the new student orientation.
  • Students who attend the High School Senior Saturday orientation will be provided with the available campus resources to connect with a student support program.

  • Students who attend the New Student Education Plan Workshops will develop a first semester education plan.
  • Students who visit the Welcome Center for admissions questions will be provided with information to complete the Student Success and Support Programs (SSSP) services: application, orientation, assessment, and education planning.
