Friday November 13th, 11am MESA Center. Sceince 202
Joshua Swearingen is a data scientist at Sano, a biometric sensor and software company developing a breakthrough technology to help anyone monitor their own biochemistry non-invasively. This role continues a decade long passion to integrate technology, artificial intelligence, and human biology. His PhD in neuroscience, from the Medical University of South Carolina, used advanced computational methods to identify networks in the brain that change with age, what an individual is watching, or after drug use. To prepare for graduate work he finished a bachelor’s program at Towson University in the MB3 program - molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. His path has been guided by an early career studying, working, and then teaching at The Community College of Baltimore County, helping young students learn about technology, as well as older ones at closing factories like Bethlehem Steel and GM continue their own education in a changing world.
