LMC Men’s Basketball team advances to regional playoffs

Pittsburg, Calif.
– The Los Medanos College (LMC) Men’s Basketball team ended the season with a 20-8 overall record, earning a spot in the Northern California Regional playoffs, ranked second in the Bay Valley Conference behind Yuba Community College.

Men's basketball logo“Our Mustangs once again wowed us with an impressive season,” President Pamela Ralston said. “We are excited to watch the game tonight and celebrate these players who are also excellent students!”

Athletic Director Martin Storti said this year’s team was stacked with experienced sophomores whose skills and know-how elevated the Mustangs’ overall performance.

“The Mustangs went to the playoffs last year, so this team is really excited to be going back,” Storti said. “Coach Derek Domenichelli's efforts to build a program beyond assembling a team from year to year are paying dividends. The starting five each earned a Conference Award.”

All-Conference Awards

  • Sophomore Ramon Bailey and Devin Carson made the All-Conference Team
  • Sophomore Devin Carson each made the All-Conference Team.
  • Sophomore AJ Dungo made the All-Defensive Team.
  • Freshman Tochi Onyeador was named Defensive Player of the Year.
  • Freshman Jalen Robertson made the All-Freshmen Team.
