Home of the Mustangs

The Los Medanos College Men's Basketball Program is one of the top programs in California! This year will be another exciting one, with a team filled with newcomers. The 2010-2011 team will be lead by Interim Head Coach Marshall Collins. The program has enjoyed great success over the past decade and looks to continue that success in Marshall’s first year as head coach. The program is dedicated to the development of student athletes in the classroom and on the court.
The program has produced multiple league MVPs, All-State and All-League players. For this upcoming 2010-11 season, the team will look to two of their top returners, Wesley Hanspard and Corey Douglas, both of whom are being recruited by four-year universities. The team will also rely on last-year backup reserve Steven Alamilo, who played a big part in the success of the 2009-10 team. The coaches have done a great job surrounding these players with an outstanding group of talented freshmen and second-year players. The coaches are looking for a few of their freshman to step-up and replace the two All-League players that have moved on from last year’s team.
Last year, the team was 21-8 in total and 14-2 in league. This year’s team will compete for the league title again and should be stronger than last year. The 2010-2011 season starts off with a scrimmage at American River College to ensure the team is ready for its opener in the Los Positas Tournament when the take on Butte.
