This Orientation is part of the Matriculation Process -your steps to success!
Matriculation is designed to help you learn how to: 1) choose the right classes 2) establish educational goals & make a plan 3) learn the college system, and 4) use campus services & resources.
What are the parts of Matriculation?
Admission: Completing an admission application which will provide
the college with information
about your educational plans and career goals.
Assessment: Participating in an assessment session which will
measure your current skill levels in reading, writing, and mathematics. The
scores are used for advising you
in selecting the level of courses that are right for you.
Orientation: Attending a
New Student Orientation, either online or in person. You will
be provided with important information on how to succeed in college and become
acquainted with the college's facilities, rules, policies and procedures;
supportive services and special programs, and course expectations and other academic
procedures.
Counseling and Advisement: Meeting with a counselor to identify
your goals, to develop your individual educational
plan, and to select appropriate courses.
Follow-up: Participating
in other support services and meeting regularly with a counselor to review and update your plan.
