scholarship listings and official los medanos college foundation guidelines

Welcome to the LMC Scholarship listings webpage. Scholarship information is updated frequently, please check back for new scholarships. Remember: You should never be asked to pay when applying for scholarship, if any type of payment is being requested, credit card information, or other personal information please exit the site immediately.

The following are the official Los Medanos College College Foundation guidelines regarding scholarship funds:

  1. All scholarship awards are reported to the LMC Financial Aid department. If you have any questions about how the funds will affect your financial aid, please contact the Financial Aid department directly.
  2. If you are a Continuing LMC student , please contact the LMC Financial Aid Scholarship Coordinator in regards to receiving a "Credit Memo" to assist in paying for your registration/supplies. Unused awards will transfer to the next semester(s) until all funds are exhausted.
  3. If you are Transferring to a four year college/university you must submit proof of transfer (acceptance letter/schedule of classes at the college/university) to the Coordinator. Once the Coordinator has received your paperwork a check for all your scholarship funds will be sent directly to the college/university.
  4. Per donor requirements, the LMC Foundation does not issue scholarship checks to students except to reimburse for acceptable expenses (receipts are required for any/all reimbursements.)
  5. All scholarship recipients are expected to express a heartfelt “thank you” to the scholarship donor. This may be expressed in a note/card to the donor. Please give your thank you notes to the Scholarship Coordinator.

Listing of local and outside scholarships available

The Scholarship Office strongly encourages students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Assistance (FAFSA) or California DREAM Act Application each year to determine your eligibility for federal and/or state grants.  The following list of scholarships are provided as resources to aid students in finding additional financial assistance to fund college expenses.  Please note, unless otherwise indicated, LMC does not determine the recipients of any scholarship(s) and advises students to contact each organization directly with any questions. Scholarship applications from reputable sources are free. If you are being asked to pay money and/or provide information you do not feel comfortable with, it is highly recommended that you do not apply and verify the authenticity of the organization.
