Research and Planning Announcements
As many of you know, this Fall our District has reorganized its research structure so that research services are now being provided for LMC by the District. A part of my role as planning coordinator is to coordinate this new process. In order to streamline and track research requests, the District has provided the following online request form:
https://insite.4cd.edu/orgs/dwco/dst/org-dwdr/Pages/Research%20Request%20Form.aspx
When accessing this form, you will be asked to login. You must use your WebAdvisor/InSite Portal login. Please complete all requested information before submitting your request. Upon submission, your request will be forwarded to your area manager and myself for review. I will be tracking research requests in order to eliminate redundancy and ensure that the request is formatted in a desirable fashion. If you already have a research request in process, you do not need to fill out this form at this time.
If you have any problems accessing or completing the form, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I am looking forward to helping you obtain the information that you need to facilitate all the wonderful evidence based conversations that lead to an improved LMC for our students.

Fall 2011 Program Review - What you have been patiently waiting for!
Fall 2011 Unit/Program Review, Assessment and Planning
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The underlying purpose of unit/program review, assessment and planning is to improve your unit or program. To utilize this process effectively you should:
- Analyze and update the status of the 2009/10 and 2010/11 objectives including program improvements
- Analyze your unit/program to identify any areas that need improvement
- Analyze and discuss your program/unit data (within the documents tab)
- Analyze and discuss the ARCC data (attached)
- Review your PSLOs and discuss PSLO assessment data (for programs)
- Write new objectives that address any of the above areas in need of improvement and that support the college goals and strategic priorities
- Due date: January 16th , 2012, 5 pm. This is the deadline for revisions to your document. All documents will be considered submitted at this point.
- To receive assistance in the following areas contact:
- Technical difficulties: it-help@losmedanos.edu
- Data interpretation: Ryan Pedersen
- Other: your manager
- Units/programs identifying a resource need related to a unit/program improvement or development proposal or a classified staffing proposal should consult with their manager before 5 pm December 16th, 2011.
- Specific data for instructional and student service units/programs are included in the “Documents” tab.
- Institutional Effectiveness (including ARCC) data is attached to this email for all Administrative, Instructional, Student Service and Support units and programs.
- An outline and instructions including the sharepoint link (http://10.39.9.16/prver1.aspx ) for completing the Unit/Program Review, Assessment and Planning document is attached to this email. This link only works if you are on campus. You may access the program review application remotely through Sharepoint (remote.losmedanos.edu).
- The definition of “program” has been resolved. Instructional programs requiring PSLO assessment are all degree and state-approved certificate programs and Developmental English, Math and ESL. The other instructional entities are considered “units” and are not required to develop and assess PSLOs. The status of non-instructional programs has not changed.
- Look forward to obtaining feedback on your program review in the Spring.
