Four students from LMC were selected and attended the 10th Annual Student Leadership Conference: Future STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) leaders in San Diego on October 19 and 20, 2013. All four are members of the college's MESA (Math, Engineering, Science, Achievement) Program. This is the fifith STEM leadership conference that LMC students have participated in, accompanied by LMC MESA program director Carol Hernandez.

Samera Khalili, Adam Alemnew, Luis Mendez, and Shawn Brewer networked with STEM industry partners and attended various workshops on Leadership, Interview Skills, Effective Communications and Social Media.

On their way out of town, they visited the University of California, San Diego campus. While there, a major goal was accomplished when they paused to look at the UCSD Jacob School of Engineering. Check out the photo to the right. Notice anything unusual?

"Our LMC Mesa students represented the college well", commented Ms. Hernandez. This conference transforms our students, while also giving them a glimpse into their future."
