New Student OrientationIf this is the first time you have been to college and you plan to pursue an associate degree or transfer to a four-year college or university, you are strongly encouraged to complete a New Student Orientation, either in person or online. If you are taking classes solely to fulfill personal interests or to enhance your job skills, you are are exempt from orientation and we ask that you complete and submit a Matriculation Exemption Request to the Information Center or LMC mailbox #25 . You have two options for New Student Orientation. The first option is to take the online orientation at your convenience and make an appointment with a counselor to plan your first-semester classes. The second option is to make an appointment to attend a New Student Workshop where a counselor will give you a Student Handbook, tell you the important things you need to know before beginning college, and then help you select your first-semester classes.
