What Is Chapter 30 Montgomery GI® Bill - Active Duty?

Chapter 30 Montgomery GI® Bill – Active Duty (MGIB-AD) benefits provide 36 months of education and training for ten years from the last discharge or separation from active duty (48 months maximum if combined with one or more programs).  The duration may extend for a disability that prevents completion of the program.  Payments are made by the VA on a monthly basis to the student.

Who Is Eligible?

You may be an eligible veteran if you have an honorable discharge, a high school diploma or GED, in some cases 12 hours of college credit, and you have two or three years of active duty depending on branch and service dates.  See additional eligibility requirements at the link below.
