Student Guidelines

Welcome to the Reading & Writing Center. The purpose of the Writing Center is to support you as you pursue your particular educational goals. In order to provide maximum benefit to the greatest number of students, please observe the following guidelines.

• Review work before and after the appointment
• Be prepared and bring the necessary supplies
  • Assignments
  • Textbooks
  • Notes
  • Course outlines/syllabus
  • Paper/Pens
  • Questions
• Students must be present to receive assistance; consultants cannot proof read papers in proxy.
• Consultants cannot do student's work, help you cram for a test the same day, or tell you what the teacher discussed in class; rather, consultants help students by enabling them to do their reading and writing with confidence.
• Since the Center's role is one of support, the ultimate responsibility for correctness and completeness rests with the student.
• Respect and be sensitive to others who are using the Center.
