Please excuse the inconvenience!

We are under construction for a new state-of-the-art Library, Science Center and Math Building.  When construction is completed, East County residents will not only benefit from the enhancement of existing programs, but also long-awaited opportunities for the development of new programs in these fields.

Construction began:  Summer 2004
Anticipated completion:  Winter 2006/Spring 2007

Thanks to the passage of Measure A and Proposition 55, Los Medanos College is looking forward to a number of exciting construction projects over the next few years.

The site preparation is now in progress for construction of a state-of-the-art Library and Community Center, as well as new Math and Science facilities.  When construction is completed, East County residents will not only benefit from the enhancement of existing programs, but also long-awaited opportunities for the development of new programs in these fields.

Installation of photovoltaic panels

Installation in parking lots B and C will be preceded by some work on the lot surfaces.  Here’s the latest on the timeline:
panels
Repaving and traffic flow modification work will begin in lot B on about May 14.  Only the temporary, overflow parking lot (near the soccer field) will then be available.  For the graduation ceremony on May 25, a drop-off area will be established in lot B.  College staff who will attend graduation may want to consider parking in lot A that day.  Lot C will be available as well.

Work on parking lot C is schedule to begin in mid June. Both lots will be completed prior to the start of classes in August.

Parking/Pedestrian Access

Parking lot A is now open. Restoration of the main entrance will gradually be reestablished, beginning in August.

From the east perimeter road (Los Medanos Drive), parking is available in Lot 2A (near the baseball field and tennis courts), Lot B (adjacent to the football stadium), Lot C (close to the Music Building and Bookstore) and the overflow lot by the soccer field at the back of the college.  Additional parking is also available along Los Medanos Drive.

For access to the main college complex (including college administration, student services, most classrooms and instructional programs), park in Lot B or Lot C in the back of campus.  Daily permits are $2.00 (requiring eight quarters); permit machines are located in lots 2A, B and C.

Disabled Parking:  Available in Lots 2A, B, and C.

Bus Stop

East and west bound pick up and drop off locations are on East Leland Road.  Note the west bound drop off is no longer on the interior campus road.  Entry to the main complex from the bus stop will be along the marked path (adjacent to the lake), leading past the Child Care Center and up to the second level of the college complex (see campus map).
