Note: We recommend that students have assessed into MATH-012 and ENGL-090 or higher or completed the class before taking many Business classes. Students should be able to type at least 25wpm and know Microsoft Office. If needed, students can take BUS-051 (Keyboarding) BUS-035 (Microsoft Office). Office administration Program

Careers in Office Administration

The Office Administration program is designed to provide instruction to those interested in professional office skills and technologies to meet the requirements of a constantly changing office environment. This program prepares students to work in office settings in positions as administrative assistants, office assistants, secretaries, administrative clerks and typists, and receptionists.

 

Office Administration Salary Averages in California:

Secretaries and Administrative Assistants, except Legal: $10.89 - $26.48 and up

Degrees and Certificates

The Certificate of Achievement requires completion of 24 units of coursework, including the required courses listed above, a minimum of nine units of electives, and completion of all college proficiencies in English, Math and Computer Competency.

 

The Associate of Science Degree requires completion of 24 units of coursework that includes the required courses listed above, a minimum of nine units of electives, and completion of all LMC general Education and Graduation requirements.

 

College Skills Certificates require only the classes listed above and are intended to provide continuing education or people with experience in the field or provide specialized short-term training in a specific area.
