This Roadmap is provided as a SAMPLE GUIDE showing what a full-time student's schedule MAY look like. There is no guarantee that all classes will be offered each semester or that classes will have space available. You must meet all prerequisite requirements prior to registering for a class.
The Vocational Nursing program is impacted, so selection of qualified applicants is done by a computerized random selection process. To qualify for the applicant pool, the applicant must have all prerequisites completed before applying to the program and an overall 2.5 GPA (and a "C" or better) on the prerequisite courses.

It requires good communication skills, critical thinking, decision making, and requires knowledge of science technology. Nurses often work different shifts, including days, evenings, nights or per diem (on-call). Opportunities are available throughout the nation, allowing graduates to relocate almost anywhere.
The Vocational Nursing program at LMC is designed to prepare qualified graduates to take the state board exam (NCLEX-PN) to become Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN). LVNs assist RNs and doctors in the care of patients with medical problems. They administer medications, monitor equipment, change dressings, feed, bathe, massage and dress patients, maintain patients’ charts, and take vital signs. LMC also offers a career ladder for LVNs to become RNs. Please consult the Nursing Applicant Handbook for more information on all nursing programs.
Licensed Vocational Nurse: $17.66 - $32.73 per hour
The Vocational Nursing Program is three semesters in length. The Certificate of Achievement is awarded upon successful completion of the program. Completion of prerequisite courses and required for admission eligibility to the program. Only those students formally admitted to the program may enroll in Vocational Nursing Completion of the vocational program qualifies students to take the State Board Examination (NCLEX-PN) for licensure as vocational nurse (LVN).
