Careers in Computer Support

The Associate Degree and Certificates of Achievement (Basic and Advanced) in Computer Support prepares students for positions in help desk and computer support. Computer support specialists provide technical assistance to computer users, answer questions and resolve computer problems for clients in person, over the telephone or by email. They may provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

 

Computer Support Salary Averages in California:

Computer User Support Specialist: $15.38 - $44.66/hour

Note: Some positions may require a BS in Computer Science or a related field.

AS Degree or Certificate of Achievement

The Certificate of Achievement (Basic) requires completion of 16.5 units of coursework listed above. The Certificate of Achievement (Advanced) requires all courses listed in the Basic Certificate, plus an additional 16.5 units shown above.

 

The Associate of Science Degree requires completion of 60 units of coursework that includes the required courses listed above and completion of all LMC general Education and Graduation requirements.
