Parking and Transportation

Construction of the new library and math buildings is now complete!

The science building and the new quads, including access to the main campus, will be completed during the month of February.  These new state-of-the-art facilities greatly improve access to information; to expanded programs in science, engineering and mathematics; and to great new outdoor gathering places for East County residents.

FREE BUS PASSES!!!!
Turn your LMC Student ID into an entertainment discount card and FREE bus pass with a free LMC/Tri Delta Transit sticker. Pick up a free Tri Delta Transit sticker for your ID card and get free rides all semester long. Passes will be available in the quad beginning Monday January 14th.  After the first week of class, bus passes will be available at the Information Center, the Student Life Office, and the Library (second floor). Please be prepared to show your LMC Student ID card.

This program has been funded by the Los Medanos College Associated Students, Tri-Delta Transit, and 511 Contra Costa.

Buses (Fall Sememster)

LMC is served by frequent Tri Delta Transit buses to Pittsburg/Bay Point BART and local communities. Buses numbered 380,387,388 and 391 all serve LMC. The fare is currently $1.00. Local Route Fares with a BART train Cash transfer is 50 cents. LMC students can receive a monthly pass good for unlimited rides for $15.00. Students need to carry at least 6 units to qualify. Passes and schedules are available at the cashiers office. The Tri Delta Transit web site also offers a “Trip Planner” link where you can enter origin and destination and the web site will provide you with transit options and times. BART
Tri Delta Transit Buses connect LMC to BART, which services Pittsburg, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek and other cities throughout the Bay Area. For specific Tri Delta Transit buses that service Los Medanos College, please see “Buses”, or call BART at: 925 676-2278 (BART)

College Commute Program
Free $40 gas cards or BART and bus tickets are available to students every semester. Students who pledge to carpool or use public transit to campus instead of driving alone to school are eligible to participate. Services provided by 511 Contra Costa.

Carpooling
Carpooling to school is a healthier and faster commute option with 9 miles of High Occupancy Vehicle lanes on Highway 4, between Port Chicago Highway and Railroad Avenue.

Bicycle
Secure bike racks are available at various locations on campus. Bikes can be transported by BART or bus as well. See the above numbers for more information.

The De Anza bike trail intersects the South end of the Los Medanos College campus. The bike trail can be accessed from the West of LMC at Leland, Crestview Drive Railroad Avenue, Harbor Street, Loveridge Road. The bike trail can be accessed from the East of LMC at Somersville Road, Delta Fair Blvd and GentryTown Drive and James Donlon Boulevard. 511 Contra Costa
provides commuter services and programs to college students traveling to, through, or from Contra Costa. Programs are available offering free gas cards and bus tickets every semester to students who are willing to start a carpool or try riding the bus or BART instead of driving alone to campus. 511 Contra Costa commute services are provided free of charge to residents, college commuters and employers in Contra Costa County. Funds for this program are provided by the Bar Area Air Quality Management District’s Transportation Fund for Clean Air and the Contra Costa Transportation Authority.
