WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME IN THE CLASSROOM?
- You will be treated as a college student by the instructor and the work will be at the college level and will be rigorous. You will be expected to be an attentive, active participant, and motivated to benefit from this college experience.
- The work will include reading and writing assignments, quizzes and exams, and application of critical thinking skills, along with specific requirements for each course by the instructor. For every one hour of lecture, there should be at least two hours of homework and reading to do outside of the classroom.
- Course content may include topics, vocabulary and issues which are defined as adult topics, i.e. a psychology course will include Freudian theory and sexual terms; a biology class may discuss evolutionary theory or substance abuse issues.
- The grades are performance based. Just attending every class meeting will not result in passing the course. You have to “earn” your grade and be prepared for each class meeting.
