Online Classes at LMC

Requirements

What you will need

In addition to these Internet, hardware and software requirements, individual classes may require specific applications (such as Microsoft Word for documents or iTunes for podcasts). Please be sure to check with your professor for any additional requirements for that course.

 

Computer labs are available on the LMC campus that you can use for your online course work.

 

Internet Minimum Requirements

A broadband connection (a DSL or cable high speed connection)

 

Browser Requirements

Cookies, Pop-ups and JavaScript Set your browser to accept cookies and allow pop-ups from LMC’s Blackboard server or the “losmedanos.edu” domain. JavaScript should also be enabled on your browser.

Intel or AMD processor, 1.5 Ghz minimum, 2 Ghz or higher recommended.

Java™ Plug-in Since Blackboard Learn is a product developed on the Java™ platform, some Blackboard functionality depends on the Java runtime (JRE 6 or higher) installed on your computer. To avoid unnecessary problems, you should check to ensure that the Java runtime and plug-in for your browser(s) are up-to-date. The JRE can be downloaded from the Oracle® website
