Step by Step Instructions
LMC uses Blackboard for its completely and partially online courses. Heres
how to start using LMCs Online Classes:
- Click
on the Login button. This will take you to the login page.
- Your
username is composed of your first initial, full last name, and the
last three digits of your Student ID # (a seven digit number near the
top of your class registration receipt). This is the same as your Web
Advisor username. Type in your Username: jrodriguez123 (example).
- Your
birth date is your initial Blackboard Password. Type in your Password:
070476 (example - if you had been born on July 4, 1976, note there are
no "/").
- Click
on the Login button.
- Youre
now in your personal Blackboard area. On the right side of the page
is a box with the title My Courses at the top. Inside that box is a
list of links to all Blackboard classrooms that are currently available.
Click on the classroom you wish to enter.
- Youre
now on the Announcements page in that classroom. Follow your instructors
directions.
Make
Sure To Check Your Email Address
Without your email address other students in your class will not be able
to contact you directly and you will not be able to communicate with your
instructor confidentially. So when you log in for the first time make
sure that you do the following:
following the instructions above (steps 1 through 5).
- Youre
now in your personal Blackboard area. On the left side is a box entitled
Tools. Click on the last of these tools, Personal Information.
- Click
on Edit Personal Information. Note that this is where Change Password
is also located.
- Type
in the email address you want to use for your LMC online classes (many
people have more than one email address) into the E-mail text box(the
fourth box from the top).
- Click
on the Submit button at the bottom of the page.
Make
the LMC Blackboard Portal One of Your Bookmarks or Favorite Places
Have this one of your Bookmarks or Favorite Places so you can come directly
to the LMC Blackboard portal in the future.
