The mission of the Los Medanos College Foundation is to provide the community the opportunity to invest in the development of comprehensive resources for Los Medanos College which will support educational excellence. Since incorporation in September 1997, the Los Medanos College Foundation has been instrumental in providing scholarships and funding for educational programs and services at Los Medanos College.

The LMC Foundation’s Scholarship Program Office annually administers over $250,000 in scholarship funds and emergency loans for students. In cooperation with local medical organizations, the LMC Foundation provides additional funding to the LMC Nursing Department that supports faculty and staff. Since 2002, the Foundation has upgraded ten classrooms and a large lecture hall for the college. Books for the Library, equipment for physical science, chemistry, biology, student services, art, and auto technology are a few of the departments that have benefited from support of the LMC Foundation.

The LMC Foundation is supported by the generous and forward-thinking East County community through their donations, participation in our special events and membership in the LMC President’s Circle program. The commitment from our Corporate Sponsors (Air Products, Inc., Bill Brandt Ford, Contra Costa Times, Discovery Builders, The Dow Chemical Co., GWF Power Systems, General Chemical West-LLC, The Mechanics Bank, Mirant Corporation, John Muir Health, Sutter Delta Medical Center, Tesoro Refining & Manufacturing, tBP/Architecture, USS POSCO, and Wells Fargo) further demonstrate the perceived value of our efforts to assist Los Medanos College in providing educational excellence to East County.
