LMC New Student Orientation

preparing your way

HS Orientation

High school Senior Orientation

Orientation for high school seniors is held each year in the spring. Outreach staff will visit local high schools in February and March, and Assessment Center staff will conduct assessment testing at the high schools in March and April. Check with your counseling or career center early in the spring semester for the dates and times of visits at your school. Orientation dates and times will be posted here in March.

New Student Workshop and Online Orientation

Here is a checklist of steps to assist you in getting started:

  1. Complete your application for admission online on or after March 1st. Click "Here are all the steps you need to know" and follow the links.

  2. English and math assessment tests, if needed, should be taken before the workshop. You may take the tests only once per academic year, so it is important to be prepared and well rested before testing. To determine whether you need to take the assessment tests, visit the assessment center. The assessment schedule is available online.

  3. If you wish to apply for financial aid or a fee waiver, do so before the workshop. Visit the LMC Financial Aid web page or Financial Aid Office, or call (925) 439-2181, ext. 3139.

  4. Attend the New Student Orientation. At the orientation, you will see a counselor and register for your courses.
