English as a Second Language ESL

Paula GunderEMLS/ESL Educational Team

The LMC EMLS/ESL faculty, counselor, and support staff are dedicated professionals with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.

We all share a love for languages, cultures, and the opportunities that learning new languages and cultures can bring to our lives. We want to share this passion with, you, our LMC EMLS/ESL students.

Through our instructional activities, our course materials, and our teaching, advising and counseling interactions, we work to respectfully and enthusiastically explore and learn about you (our students) and your cultures and the diverse U.S. culture as we strive to help you develop your multilingual English language skills, strategies, and confidence.

And, as your English language proficiency improves, we work to help you realize and take advantage of the many new personal, social, career, and educational opportunities available to you here at Los Medanos College, in our East Contra Costa County communities, in the Bay Area, and beyond.
