AT LMC: AN OVERVIEW FOR FALL 2007
Look at what’s in store for the LMC community, thanks to the fine talents of the Drama Department in the fall of 2007! Just about every good thing you can think of. Let’s start with our classes. We now have more classes and more variety than ever before. Our academic General Ed offerings are offered both face to face and online, either completely online or in part. Many are now being offered in Brentwood as well. This fall think about taking any of the following classes to fulfill numerous requirements. We offer Drama 15, Drama 16, Drama 30, Drama 70 and Drama 71. As far as production classes we offer Drama 20, 21, 31 and 42 this semester. To learn more specific details about these great classes please visit http://www.losmedanos.edu/schedule/index.html Want to act this fall? We have two fine productions going up this fall in our LMC Little Theatre. The first is part of the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read project. You might have heard of it? It is the brand new dramatization of To Kill A Mockingbird. Directed by Barbara Norris, it promises to be fun and intense with a huge cast and a part for everyone. Please think about auditioning for this show in August! Later in the semester we are producing a controversial play called Bee Luther-Hatchee directed by Casey Cann. Casey last directed The Vagina Monologues on our LMC stage. This time she tackles another interesting subject: does a white male author have the right and the voice to tell the tale of an African American woman? Performance Dates for To Kill A Mockingbird directed by Barbara Norris
Performance dates for Bee-Luther-Hatchee directed by Casy Cann
Enroll in either Drama 42 – Section 1106 for Mockingbird and/or Drama 42 – Section 0005 for Bee Luther-Hatchee and automatically become a part of these productions and get credit! That’s just a smattering of what is happening beginning in August 2007. Think about enriching your life and making an important contribution to our community by taking many of our wonderful classes and, of course, attend all our productions and tell your friends about us. Theatre is alive and well at Los Medanos College! To learn more contact our chair, Joanna Folino, at 925 439 2181 ext 3137.
