Computer Competency Requirements Computer competency is required to earn an Associate Degree or a Certificate or Achievement. This requirement may be satisfied in any one of the following ways:

About the Exam:The Computer Competency exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions. A passing score is 84 or more correct (70%). No grade or units are received; exam results are valid at LMC only. The exam focuses on the technical aspects of computers and is equivalent to a final exam on the book New Perspectives Computer Concepts 2012 Comprehensive Edition. This book can be checked out from the Drop-in Lab or from the LMC Library. Students are strongly advised to study the book before attempting the exam. The exam may be attempted twice. On the day of the exam, students should not bring any personal items such as backpacks, books, phones, etc.
