LMC is the only community college to offer an Appliance Service Technology program.
The Appliance Service Technology program offers five training options:Technician I
Primarily an evening program, the Technician I option prepares students for entry-level positions as appliance installers or shop technician trainees. Students must complete 18.5-37.5 units of specified Appliance courses and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Upon successful completion, students will also receive EPA certification. Required classes include:

APPLI 14 Advanced Electrical Appliances Tech I, 3 units
APPLI 23 Basic Refrigeration Tech I, 3 units
APPLI 24 Advanced Refrigeration Tech I, 3 units
APPLI 21 Electrical Appliances Shop Practice, 1 Unit
APPLI 31 Gas Appliance and Refrigeration Shop Practice, 1 Unit
APPLI 37 Appliance Shop Practice-Intermediate, 1 Unit
APPLI 38 Appliance Shop Practice-Advanced, 1 Unit
APPLI 46 Principle and repair of Microwave Ovens, .5 Unit
HCREF 45 Central Heating and Cooling Troubleshooting, 2 Units
Technician II
Primarily a day program, the Technician II option prepares students for entry-level positions in the appliance service field, with sufficient background to support a rapid transition to the field technician level. Students must complete 19-39 units of specified Appliance courses and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Upon successful completion, students will also receive EPA certification. Required classes include:

APPLI 36 Appliance Shop Practice-Advanced, 5 Unit
**APPLI 99 may be used to satisfy some courses with the approval of an instructor.
