The Appliance Service Technology program offers five training options:

1. Appliance Technician I certificate: prepares students for entry-level positions as appliance installers or shop technician trainees.
2. Appliance Technician II certificate: prepares students for entry-level positions in the appliance service field, with sufficient background for transition to field technician.
3. Students can also receive an A.S. Degree in Appliance Service Technology. Students must complete 19-39 units of specified Appliance courses in addition to the requirements defined in the A.S. Requirements section of the LMC Catalog.
4. Students can obtain certification in refrigeration, laundry and cooking products. These classes are designed for a beginning service technician new to the industry looking for entry level training or the experienced technician looking to upgrade their knowledge of a particular Whirlpool product category. Technician I
Primarily an evening program, the Technician I option prepares students for entry-level positions as appliance installers or shop technician trainees. Students must complete 18.5-37.5 units of specified Appliance courses and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Upon successful completion, students will also receive EPA certification. Required classes include:

APPLI 46 Principle and repair of Microwave Ovens, .5 Unit
HCREF 45 Central Heating and Cooling Troubleshooting, 2 Units

Technician II
Primarily a day program, the Technician II option prepares students for entry-level positions in the appliance service field, with sufficient background to support a rapid transition to the field technician level. Students must complete 19-39 units of specified Appliance courses and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Upon successful completion, students will also receive EPA certification. Required classes include:

**APPLI 99 may be used to satisfy some courses with the approval of an instructor.
