Anthony HaileyAssistant Professor and Department Chair since 2011

 Anthony earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree from The State University of New York (SUNY) in Social Sciences. A Masters of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from San Jose State University and a Masters of Arts Degree in Education Administration from San Francisco State University. He has worked for the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Department, Correctional Division for 11 years beginning as an officer and worked his way to lieutenant.  He has taught at, and chaired the criminal justice departments at San Joaquin Valley College in Bakersfield, CA. and at ITT Technical in Concord, CA.


John Conaty (925) 252-4802

John ConatyAdjunct Instructor - started as a substitute instructor in 2009

John has a a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from San Jose State University. John has been a police officer with the City of Pittsburg for the past twenty-five years and has been a homicide inspector for sixteen of those.  He has investigated over one hundred and fifty individual homicide cases.  These have included cases of justifiable homicide as well as numerous murder cases.  He is a member of the Contra Costa County Child Abduction Protocol Team and a member of the Contra Costa County Officer Involved Fatal Incident Investigative Resource Pool. He is also a certified polygraph examiner.

 Education - Bachelors of Science Degree from Sacramento State University - Criminal Justice -Master of Arts Degree from Saint Mary's College of California - Leadership in the Public Sector

 Employment - Currently employed with Pittsburg Police Department for 15 years as a Police Lieutenant assigned to the Investigations Division as the Division Commander.

Edgar E. Sanchez (925) 252-4143

Detective and Adjunct Instructor with LMC since 2011

 Edgar earned a BS in Criminal Justice Management from Union Institute and University. He has worked police officer with the Pittsburg Police Department since 1996 and a crime scene investigator since 2002. He has investigated over 100 deaths which include homicides, suicides, traffic fatalities and unexplained deaths.
