My biggest goal to overcome during my education was being a single parent.
My child was 10 when I started college and at that age he is able to take care
of many of his needs on his own, however he still needed educational tutoring
which required a great deal of time. We both have worked very hard to achieve
our educational goals.
It was definitely
an adjustment getting started and applying for financial aid; all the paperwork
was overwhelming. Once I got settled, I began to get
organized and ready for work and I attended many success workshops. Each semester
got a little easier. As graduation came near I found it harder to concentrate
because I was excited about achieving my goals!
I have accepted
a position as a Deputy Clerk for Contra Costa County's Superior Courts, and
I am looking forward to starting my new career!
